Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement say they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the community for details.
An important official commented the attack left him stunned and needed to be addressed quickly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on residents of migrant background in February 2020.
